Byron Dafoe Autographs
Byron Dafoe is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who was born on February 25, 1971, in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada. He began his professional ice hockey career in 1988 when he was drafted in the second round, 35th overall, by the Washington Capitals. He spent his first two years with Washington but didn't make much of an impact. In 1992, Dafoe was traded to Boston Bruins, which was the team where he gained the most attention for his spectacular goaltending.
In Boston, Dafoe turned out to be a star performer year after year. He set franchise marks for wins and shutouts during his years in Boston Bruins. In the 1998-99 season, he led them to the playoffs, where they made it to the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Dafoe was named a First-Team All-Star for the season and was also named the winner of the Roger Crozier trophy as the financial league's best goalie for that season.
In 2002, Dafoe signed with the Atlanta Thrashers to back up Pasi Nurminen. After a year with Atlanta, he went back to Boston for the 2003-04 season. However, he retired from professional ice hockey after that single season, aged 33. Throughout his professional career, Byron Dafoe played 415 games, winning 171 of them, and recording 26 shutouts. His career record also included a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.61 and .906 save percentage.
