Cam Talbot Autographs
Cam Talbot was born on July 5, 1987, in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada. Talbot played his junior hockey for the Hamilton Red Wings of the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League. After two seasons with the Red Wings, the goaltender attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he played for the Chargers. Talbot was named to the All-Independent team as a freshman in 2007-08 season.
Talbot began his professional career with the Hartford Wolf Pack, the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, in 2010. After three seasons in the AHL, where he was named the league's Goaltender of the Year in 2014, he finally got his chance in the NHL, serving as Henrik Lundqvist's backup for the Rangers. In 2015, Talbot was traded to the Edmonton Oilers, where he became their starting goaltender.
Talbot had a tremendous season in 2016-17, where he played in 73 games and won 42, setting an Oilers franchise record for wins in a season. He helped lead the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2006. In 2019, Talbot signed with the Calgary Flames, where he played for two seasons before being traded to the Minnesota Wild. Talbot continued to impress, posting a .915 save percentage in the 2020-21 season and leading the Wild to the playoffs. Throughout his career, Talbot has proved to be a reliable goaltender and an invaluable asset to any team.
