Chris Tanev Autographs
Chris Tanev is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who plays in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Calgary Flames. Born on December 20, 1989, Tanev was raised in East York, Ontario, and started playing ice hockey at a young age. He played for the Hill Academy before moving on to the Markham Waxers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in 2007.
Tanev's big break came in the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs, when he made his NHL debut for the Vancouver Canucks. He played an integral part in the Canucks' run to the Stanley Cup Finals that year, showing his defensive prowess and earning the nickname "The Steady Eddie" from his teammates. The following season, Tanev became a regular on the Canucks' blue line, and he has been a fixture in the NHL ever since.
Tanev's career highlights include winning gold medals with Team Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics and the 2016 IIHF World Championships. He has also been recognized for his defensive play, winning the Dan Hamhuis Award for best defenseman on the Canucks in 2016-17, and he was a finalist for the NHL's Lady Byng Trophy for sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct in 2020-21. Tanev remains a respected and experienced defenseman in the NHL, and he continues to showcase his consistent and reliable play on the ice.
