Dan Bouchard is a former professional ice hockey goaltender who played for the Atlanta Flames and Calgary Flames from 1972 to 1985. Born on December 12, 1950, in Val-d'Or, Quebec, Bouchard began his hockey career as a teenager, playing for various junior teams before joining the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Bouchard quickly became a standout player on the Flames, leading his team to the playoffs in 1976 and 1977. He set a record for the most shutouts in a season by a goaltender playing for an expansion team, with eight in the 1976-77 season. He continued to play for the Flames until they relocated to Calgary in 1980, helping to establish the team in its new home.
