Dan McGillis Autographs
Dan McGillis was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who was born on October 1, 1972, in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada. McGillis started his hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he played for the Kingston Frontenacs from 1990 to 1993. After impressing during his junior career, he was drafted in the second round, 36th overall, by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.
He made his professional debut with the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League (AHL) in the 1993–94 season before playing with the Detroit Red Wings in the 1995–96 season. However, it was with the Philadelphia Flyers that McGillis had the most success of his career. He played for the Flyers from 1997 to 2001 and amassed 166 points in 372 games. In 1999-00, McGillis helped the Flyers reach the Eastern Conference finals and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team after finishing the season with 11 goals and 27 assists.
McGillis' career spanned over 15 seasons in the NHL, and he played for a total of seven teams, including Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes, New Jersey Devils, and Colorado Avalanche. He played in a total of 634 NHL games, scoring 47 goals with 131 assists for 178 points. McGillis was known as an excellent two-way player and a fierce competitor on the ice, and he was highly respected by his teammates and opponents. His dedication and passion for the sport made him a valuable player and a fan favorite throughout his career.
