Danny DeKeyser Autographs
Danny DeKeyser is an American-born professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on March 7, 1990, in Macomb Township, Michigan, DeKeyser began his hockey career while attending Lakeshore High School, where he played for the school team. Following high school, he joined the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he played for two seasons.
In 2010, DeKeyser committed to play college hockey for Western Michigan University, where he would remain for three seasons playing for the Broncos. In his final year at Western Michigan, DeKeyser was named to the All-CCHA First Team before signing with the Detroit Red Wings in 2013. In his rookie season with the Red Wings, DeKeyser appeared in 11 games, scoring one goal and four assists. He continued to play for the Red Wings, becoming a valuable member of the team's defense corps and featuring in the lineup for most games.
DeKeyser has represented the United States in international tournaments, including the 2014 and 2015 IIHF World Championships. In addition, he has been a nominee for the NHL's Bill Masterton Trophy for qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. DeKeyser has continued to play a vital role on the Red Wings' defense and was named an alternate captain for the team in the 2020-21 season.
