Dave Andreychuk is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who was born on September 29, 1963, in Hamilton, Ontario. Andreychuk started his professional career in 1982 when he was drafted in the first round by the Buffalo Sabres. In his 23-season career, primarily as a left-winger, he played for teams such as Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, and Tampa Bay Lightning. One of Andreychuk's career highlights came in 2004 when he won the Stanley Cup as captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning, after appearing in his first-ever Stanley Cup playoff game that same year. During his career, Dave Andreychuk played in 1,639 regular-season games and accumulated 1,338 points, which places him 29th on the league's all-time points list. Andreychuk was considered one of the best power-play scorers in NHL history, having scored a total of 274 goals with a man advantage, which is the highest in NHL history. Andreychuk's remarkable performance in the season of 1992-93, where he scored 53 goals in 82 games, ranked him third in goals that year and helped earn him a place on the NHL All-Star Second Team.
