Dave Brown Autographs
Dave Brown is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player born on January 12, 1962. Brown began his junior career with the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League (WHL) and got selected in the first round, 21st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He played nine seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1982 to 1994 with five different clubs, but is most remembered for his days with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Brown was known for his physical and intimidating playing style and became one of the most feared enforcers in the league during his prime. He served as the Flyers' enforcer from 1987 to 1991, often fighting other teams' toughest players and protecting his teammates. He had some of the toughest fights in NHL history with the likes of Bob Probert and Marty McSorley. Brown had his best NHL season in 1988-89 with the Flyers, where he scored a career-high 10 goals and recorded 245 penalty minutes in 74 games.
After retiring from professional hockey, Brown remained with the Flyers organization as a scout, focusing on Western Canada, and later served as an assistant coach for the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. Brown’s hockey career was marked by his tenacity, physicality, and an unwavering commitment to his team. He deserves a place among the great enforcers in NHL history and will always be remembered by the fans for his fearless antics on the ice.
