Dave Keon Autographs
Dave Keon is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, who was born on March 22, 1940, in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. He played center and spent his entire National Hockey League (NHL) career with the Toronto Maple Leafs between 1960 and 1975. Keon was a key member of the Maple Leafs’ 1960s Stanley Cup dynasty, as he helped them win four championships during that period. He was a ten-time all-star, having been voted into the game ten times over his playing career.
Keon began his NHL career by helping the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup as part of his rookie season in 1961-62. He was an elite center with a strong two-way game and a tenacious backchecking ability. His scoring ability, playmaking and penalty-killing skills also made him an asset to the team during that era. As a result, he went on to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs in 1967, when the Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup.
Keon played 1120 games in the NHL, scoring 396 goals and 590 assists for 986 points. Despite his impact on the Leafs and his overall impact on the game, he played his final NHL season as a member of the Hartford Whalers in the 1981-82 season. In 1986, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame for his contributions to the game, and his number 14 jersey was retired by the Maple Leafs, where he remains one of the most beloved players the franchise has ever seen.
