David Legwand is a retired professional hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 16 seasons. Legwand was born on August 17, 1980, in Detroit, Michigan, and played for several teams in the league, including the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators, and Buffalo Sabres. Legwand's hockey career began when he was drafted second overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators. He played more than 900 games with the Predators and became the franchise's all-time leading scorer with 566 points. Legwand also set many other franchise records while playing for the Predators, including most goals scored, most points in a season, and most game-winning goals.
