Dean Evason Autographs
Dean Evason is a former professional hockey player and current coach who was born on August 22, 1964, in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He began his hockey career in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Kamloops Junior Oilers, where he played six seasons and served as the team captain in his final year. During his time in the WHL, Evason was known for his hard work ethic and his ability to score goals.
In 1984, Evason was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round of the NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play 13 seasons in the NHL, spending time with the Capitals, San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, Calgary Flames, and finally, the Minnesota Wild. Over the course of his NHL career, Evason played in 803 games, scoring a total of 139 goals and 372 points. He was known for his two-way play, his leadership qualities, and his willingness to do whatever it took to help his team win.
After his playing career ended, Evason transitioned to coaching. He began as an assistant coach in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks, and then moved to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL), where he served as the head coach for six seasons. In 2018, Evason was named an assistant coach for the Minnesota Wild, and then became the head coach in February 2020, leading the team to the playoffs in his first season at the helm. He is known for his ability to communicate with his players, his attention to detail, and his passion for the game of hockey.
