Don Lever Autographs
Don Lever is a Canadian former professional hockey player and current hockey coach. Born on January 14, 1952, in South Porcupine, Ontario, Lever began his hockey career in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) with the Toronto Marlboros in 1969. He played as a left-wing position and scored a total of 175 points in 133 OHA games, earning him the first-round selection in the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.
Lever went on to enjoy a 16-year career in the NHL, playing for five different teams, including the Canucks, the Atlanta Flames, the Colorado Rockies, the New Jersey Devils, and the Buffalo Sabres. He played over 1,000 regular-season games and scored 314 goals, 408 assists, and a total of 722 points. His most successful season was in 1980–81, where he recorded 75 points in 79 games for the Sabres. Lever was also part of the Canadian national team that won bronze in the 1982 World Ice Hockey Championships.
After retiring from playing, Lever became a coach and worked as an assistant coach in several NHL teams, including the Sabres, the St. Louis Blues, and the Dallas Stars. He then worked as a head coach for the Carolina Hurricanes from 1998 to 2000 and as a head scout for the Nashville Predators from 2005 to 2011. Lever continues to work in various capacities in the hockey world and is regarded as one of the most well-respected and knowledgeable people in the sport.
