Don Luce Autographs
Don Luce is a former Canadian ice hockey player and coach who had a remarkable career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on October 2, 1948, in London, Ontario, Luce developed an early interest in hockey and played extensively in junior leagues before being drafted in 1966 by the Detroit Red Wings. Over his sixteen seasons in the NHL, Luce played for several teams, including the New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Los Angeles Kings. He was known for his exceptional versatility and ability to play several roles, from scoring goals to playing on the penalty kill.
Throughout his career, Luce was respected as a consummate professional both on and off the ice. He was known for his work ethic, leadership skills, and dedication to teamwork. Luce was a skillful and aggressive forward, capable of scoring big goals, shutting down opposing players, and dominating play in all three zones. In the Sabres' run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1975, Luce was a key player, contributing six goals and fourteen assists in twenty-one playoff games. During his NHL career, he tallied 242 goals and 481 assists in 894 games.
After retiring as a player, Luce turned his attention to coaching, and he worked for several organizations, including the Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, and Florida Panthers. He became an assistant coach for the Sabres in 1989 and later assumed the role of director of player personnel. Luce was instrumental in developing the team's youth movement in the 1990s and helped build the team's future stars, including Dominik Hasek and Martin Biron. Luce's passion for the game and his unwavering commitment to excellence have made him one of the most respected and admired figures in the world of hockey.
