Donald Dufresne Autographs
Donald Dufresne is a retired Canadian ice hockey defenceman who had an outstanding professional career spanning over 17 years. Born on September 29, 1967, in Quebec City, Quebec, Dufresne started playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for the Hull Olympiques in the 1984–85 season. He was then drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft and spent the first six seasons of his NHL career with the Canadiens, before moving on to play for other teams in the league.
During his career, Dufresne played for six different NHL teams, Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, and Philadelphia Flyers. He became known for his superb defensive abilities and was often relied on to shut down the league's top forwards. He was an unsung hero for his teams, and his leadership and reliability earned him respect from players and coaches across the league. Moreover, He appeared in 731 NHL games, scoring 32 goals and registering 105 assists, and accumulated 553 penalty minutes.
Dufresne played a vital role in the 1992-1993 season when the Montreal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup championship. In that postseason, he recorded six points in twenty games while averaging almost 28 minutes of ice time per game. Dufresne played the game with passion, dedication, and courage, and his stellar career in the NHL will always be cherished by fans who were fortunate enough to watch him play.
