Doug Crossman Autographs
Doug Crossman is a retired Canadian professional hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 13 seasons. He was born on June 13, 1960, in Peterborough, Ontario. Crossman was a defenseman who was known for his smooth skating ability, strong positional play and effective use of his stick to disrupt the opposition's offensive attack.
Crossman was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the sixth round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. His NHL debut came in the 1980-81 season and he quickly established himself as a solid defensive blueliner. He helped the Flyers reach the Stanley Cup Finals in his rookie season, although they lost to the New York Islanders. Crossman then went on to play for the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, and Detroit Red Wings over the course of his career. He won two Stanley Cups as a member of the Edmonton Oilers in 1987 and 1988. During his time in the NHL, Crossman played in 914 games, scored 65 goals, and added 342 assists.
After retiring from playing, Crossman turned his attention to coaching, working as an assistant coach for several NHL teams, including the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, and Florida Panthers. In addition, he has also been involved in youth hockey development programs and has worked as a skills coach for young players. Doug Crossman's contributions to the game of hockey, both as a player and coach, have left a lasting impact on the sport and its players.
