Doug Jarvis Autographs
Doug Jarvis is a former Canadian hockey player who had a remarkable career that spanned around 15 years. Jarvis, born on March 24, 1955, grew up in Brantford, Ontario, a football-dominated city, but his love for hockey emerged at an early age. Jarvis began playing minor hockey in his hometown as a young boy and was eventually offered a spot on the Niagara Falls Flyers, a junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League.
After spending four years with the Niagara Falls Flyers, Doug Jarvis was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1975 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut for the Canadiens the following season and spent four seasons with the team. Jarvis played as a center and was known for his exceptional defensive abilities, often dubbed as one of the best penalty-killers in the league. During his 13-year career in the NHL, Jarvis played for four different teams, including the Montreal Canadiens, the Washington Capitals, the Hartford Whalers, and the Vancouver Canucks.
Jarvis' career in hockey was nothing short of impressive. He played in over 1000 NHL games, which is a feat achieved by very few players in the league's history. Furthermore, he won the Frank J. Selke Trophy, awarded to the league's best defensive forward, four times, which is a league record. Jarvisalso played in eight NHL All-Star games and won four Stanley Cup titles with the Montreal Canadiens, which made him a highly respected player in the league. In June 1987, Jarvis retired from professional hockey and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010.
