Doug Shedden Autographs
Doug Shedden is a retired professional ice hockey player and coach from Canada. Shedden was born on April 29, 1961, in Wallaceburg, Ontario, and played junior hockey for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League during the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft and made his professional debut with the team during the 1981-82 season. He played for the Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and Toronto Maple Leafs before retiring after the 1994-95 season.
After his playing career, Shedden transitioned to coaching. He began his coaching career in the United Kingdom with the Ayr Scottish Eagles in the British Ice Hockey Super League. Shedden led the team to a league championship in 2002 and was named the league's Coach of the Year. He also coached several other teams in the United Kingdom and Finland before returning to North America. Shedden has coached in minor league teams in the United States, and he was named the head coach of Team Finland for the 2018 IIHF World Championship.
