Dwight King Autographs
Dwight King is a retired professional hockey player who played left-wing for multiple teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) during his career. Born on July 5, 1989, in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, King started playing hockey at an early age, and he was quickly identified as a talented player. He spent most of his youth playing for the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Western Hockey League (WHL) before he was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
King’s professional hockey career began in 2010 when he was called up to the Kings’ AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs. He spent the next two seasons playing in the minors, honing his skills and gaining valuable experience. In 2012, King made his NHL debut for the Kings, and he quickly established himself as a solid, two-way forward. He showcased his scoring ability during the 2014 playoffs, where he scored nine goals, helping the Kings win their second Stanley Cup championship in three years. King played for the Kings until 2017, when he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens. He also had brief stints with the Edmonton Oilers and the KHL’s Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg before retiring in 2020.
In total, King appeared in 433 NHL games, scoring 62 goals and 75 assists for 137 points. He was known for his physical play, his ability to play in all situations, and his clutch performances in critical moments. King’s aggressive style of play made him a fan favorite, and his contributions to the Kings’ playoff success will never be forgotten. Despite his retirement, King’s impact on the game of hockey will continue to be felt, as he paved the way for future players from rural areas to make it to the NHL.
