Eric Wellwood Autographs
Eric Wellwood is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who spent most of his playing career in the Philadelphia Flyers organization. Born on March 6, 1990, in Windsor, Ontario, Wellwood's passion for hockey began at a young age, and he played for various teams in his hometown before being drafted by the Flyers in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Wellwood spent four seasons in the Flyers' organization, playing primarily for their AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms. In 2012, he was called up to the Flyers and played in 24 NHL games, scoring five goals and two assists. However, his career was tragically cut short the following year when he suffered a severe injury during a game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Despite undergoing months of rehabilitation and numerous surgeries, Wellwood was unable to return to professional hockey, and he officially retired in 2015.
Despite his shortened career, Wellwood's legacy in the hockey world continues to inspire. In 2018, he was hired as an assistant coach for the Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League, and he has since been promoted to associate head coach. Wellwood's dedication to the game and determination in the face of adversity have made him a respected figure in the hockey community and a source of inspiration for future generations of players.
