Erik Ersberg Autographs
Erik Ersberg is a former Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender who enjoyed an extensive career that spanned over a decade. Born on March 8, 1982, in Sala, Sweden, Ersberg began his career in hockey in his native country before making the leap to North America, where he successfully played in both the American Hockey League (AHL) and the National Hockey League (NHL).
Ersberg began his professional career in 2002, when he signed with the Swedish ice hockey team VIK Västerås HK. He played for the team for three seasons before being discovered by the Los Angeles Kings, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2007. Ersberg made his mark in the minor leagues, playing for the Manchester Monarchs in the AHL, where he was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team and became the first Monarchs goaltender to record three consecutive shutouts.
Ersberg made his NHL debut on December 22, 2007, in a game against the Detroit Red Wings. By the end of the season, he had played in 14 games, posting a 6-5-3 record with a .906 save percentage. However, despite his promising start, Ersberg stalled in his second NHL season and was eventually sent down to the AHL in 2009. After several years of bouncing between the AHL and European leagues, Ersberg retired from professional hockey in 2016. Throughout his career, he was known for his unorthodox style of play, which made him a fan favorite among hockey enthusiasts.
