Frederic Cassivi Autographs
Frederic Cassivi is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender, known for his impressive career in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on June 12th, 1975, in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, Cassivi began playing hockey as a child and dedicated himself to the sport throughout his life. He started his professional career with the Hampton Roads Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League, and soon after, he became a star goaltender, with a successful journey in the AHL.
Cassivi was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 1994, but he made his debut in the NHL with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2003. He played his first and only game with the Thrashers in a losing effort to the Boston Bruins. Later, he was signed by the Washington Capitals, where he played his last NHL game on November 18, 2006. Throughout his career, Cassivi played for multiple AHL teams, notably the Hershey Bears, where he ranks second in wins (136) and shutouts (20), and he helped the team win two Calder Cups in 2006 and 2009. He retired from professional hockey in 2010, ending his 15-year career with an outstanding record of 248 wins, 135 losses, and 26 overtime losses in the AHL.
Off the ice, Cassivi has been involved in many charitable organizations, including the golf tournament benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and "Hockey Fights Cancer," a league-wide initiative by the NHL and the NHL Players' Association to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. He is well-respected both in the hockey world and beyond, thanks to his contributions to sports and his involvement in philanthropic works. Cassivi's dedication to hockey and his achievements on the ice make him an unforgettable figure in the sport's history.
