Gary Lupul Autographs
Gary Lupul was a Canadian ice hockey forward born in Victoria, British Columbia, on May 22, 1960. Throughout his early years, Lupul started playing hockey in various leagues before ultimately making his professional debut with the Edmonton Oilers in the 1981-1982 season. He played in 52 games in his rookie campaign, registering 16 goals, 23 assists, and 39 points. Merely 25 games into the 1982-1983 season, the Oilers traded Lupul to the Philadelphia Flyers, where he would spend the next five seasons.
As a part of the Flyers, in just his first season, Lupul set personal career highs with 32 goals and 75 points. Still, he was hampered by injuries in his second season in Philadelphia, causing him to miss more than half of that season's games. For a brief period in 1987-1988, he played for the Los Angeles Kings and then went on to play for HC Bolzano in Italy for the 1988-1989 season. However, he returned to the Kings in 1989-1990, where he finished his NHL career with 16 goals, 19 assists, and 35 points in 77 games played.
Overall, Lupul's professional playing career spanned ten seasons, with 535 games played, 149 goals, 184 assists, and 333 points. Even after retirement, he continued his involvement in hockey by working for the Vancouver Canucks' scouting department. Unfortunately, he passed away in September of 2007 at the age of 47, leaving behind a legacy as a well-respected player and member of the hockey community.
