Glen Metropolit Autographs
Glen Metropolit is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who was born in November 1974 in Toronto, Ontario. He began playing organized ice hockey at the age of four and played for the Greater Toronto Hockey League's North York Canadiens in his youth. Metropolit first played professionally for the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League in 1996. He went on to play for numerous teams in North America and Europe throughout his career.
During his professional hockey career, Metropolit played for several teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), including the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning, Atlanta Thrashers, St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, and Philadelphia Flyers. He was known for his versatility, as he could play both center and winger positions. Metropolit was also praised for his strong work ethic, penalty-killing abilities, and faceoff skills. In total, he played 407 NHL games, scoring 68 goals and recording 122 assists.
In addition to playing in the NHL, Metropolit also played internationally, representing Team Canada in several tournaments. He won a gold medal with Canada at the 1994 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic. Later in his career, Metropolit played in several European professional hockey leagues, including the Swiss National League A, Deutsche Eishockey Liga, and Finnish Liiga. He retired from professional hockey in 2013 and now works as a player development coach for the Carolina Hurricanes.
