Gord Kluzak Autographs
Gord Kluzak is a retired Canadian ice hockey player born on March 4, 1964. He was first drafted in 1982 by the Boston Bruins as the first overall pick. During his career, Kluzak was a solid defenseman, with a high level of skills, and it wasn't long before he became a prominent player in the NHL. While he struggled with injuries throughout his time in the league, his dynamic talent ensured he made an impact on every team he played on.
Kluzak’s career with the Boston Bruins spanned ten seasons that had many ups and downs. Before he had even begun, he torn his anterior cruciate ligament, after playing for just three minutes of his first game. Though he went to have seven surgeries while with the Bruins, Gord had several healthy years with the Bruins, where he became the face of their defense. He took part in various Bruins’ playoff runs, including the team’s run to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1988. He retired from hockey back in 1991 after a final battle with injuries that ended his career.
Kluzak's style of play allowed him to project his skill set to other roles after his playing days were over. He spent several years as an analyst for SportsNet on a segment called "Hometown Hockey," before heading back to Boston where he remains active within the hockey industry in various capacities. Gord’s legacy within the Bruins’ organization is one of a player whose love for the game and perseverance to overcome various challenges did not go unnoticed by Bruins' fans.
