Greg Nemisz Autographs
Greg Nemisz is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player born on June 5, 1990, in Courtice, Ontario, Canada. He played several leagues of hockey beginning with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2006-2010, where he was drafted to the Windsor Spitfires in the first round, 5th overall in 2006. Nemisz won two OHL championships with the Spitfires in 2009 and 2010 and was awarded the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award for the 2010 OHL Playoffs MVP. He then joined the Abbotsford Heat, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Calgary Flames, for the 2010-2011 season.
Nemisz transitioned to play with the Calgary Flames during the 2011-2012 season, where he played 15 games and scored one goal. He returned to the Abbotsford Heat until the 2013-2014 season, where he was subjected to ongoing injuries. In January 2015, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for TJ Hensick but played for their AHL affiliate team, the Charlotte Checkers, until his retirement in 2017. Overall, Nemisz had a fruitful hockey career, but his potential professional NHL career was cut short by unforeseen injuries.
Since his retirement, Nemisz has remained active in the hockey community. He became the director of player development for the OJHL Cobourg Cougars in 2018, where he guides and mentors young players through their hockey careers. Nemisz remains a beloved figure in the hockey community, and his contributions to the sport in Canada remain highly appreciated.
