Hakan Loob Autographs
Hakan Loob is a retired Swedish ice hockey player, who was born on July 3, 1960, in Visby, Sweden. He started his professional career playing for Färjestads BK in 1980, where he earned the reputation of being one of the best hockey players in Sweden. Loob played for Färjestads BK for seven seasons, during which he helped the team win two Swedish Championships. He was also named the best Swedish player in the Swedish Elite League twice.
In 1983, Hakan Loob had a brief stint in the National Hockey League (NHL) when he was drafted by the Calgary Flames. He returned to Sweden for one more season with Färjestads BK before moving to Calgary to start his NHL career. Loob’s first season with the Flames was impressive as he scored 30 goals in 38 games. He continued to shine in the following seasons, helping Calgary Flames win the Stanley Cup in 1989. Loob retired from professional hockey in 1996, having played for Calgary Flames for 5 years, and amassing a total of 429 points in 450 games.
Hakan Loob has been recognized for his contributions to Swedish and North American hockey. He is a member of the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Calgary Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. Loob was also chosen to participate in the 1996 NHL All-Star Game, where he scored a goal representing Sweden. After retirement, Loob has continued to work in hockey as a talent scout, NHL liaison for Sweden, and a TV commentator. His achievements on and off the ice make him an iconic figure of Swedish hockey and a respected member of the NHL.
