Jaroslav Spacek Autographs
Jaroslav Spacek is a retired Czech professional ice hockey defenseman. He was born on February 11, 1974, in Rokycany, Czechoslovakia. His hockey career began in 1990 when he played for HC Dukla Jihlava in the Czechoslovak Extraliga. After playing professionally in Europe for several years, he was selected by the Florida Panthers in the fifth round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. Beginning in the 1998-1999 season, Spacek played 880 regular season NHL games for six different teams, including Florida, Chicago, Columbus, Edmonton, Buffalo, and Montreal.
During his NHL career, Spacek was known for his toughness, willingness to block shots, and aggressive style of play. He was a key member of the Buffalo Sabres during their run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2006, and he helped lead the Montreal Canadiens to the Conference Finals in 2010. He also represented the Czech Republic in international play, including the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 2006. Spacek retired from professional hockey in 2014, and he returned to his hometown of Rokycany, where he currently serves as the President of the local hockey club.
