Jason Smith is a retired American professional basketball player. He was born on March 2, 1986, in Greeley, Colorado. He played basketball in high school and was named the Colorado Player of the Year during his senior year. Smith went on to attend Colorado State University, where he played for the Rams from 2004 to 2007. He was a standout player for the team, leading them in scoring and rebounding during the 2006-2007 season, which helped him earn honors such as Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press. Smith was drafted in the first round, 20th overall, by the Miami Heat in the 2007 NBA draft.
