Jay Wells Autographs
Jay Wells is a former professional ice hockey defenseman who spent 18 seasons playing in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on May 18, 1959, in Paris, Ontario, Canada, Wells grew up playing hockey and excelled at the sport from an early age. He began his hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he played for the London Knights and made a name for himself as a tough and reliable defender.
In 1979, Wells was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft. He made his debut in the league in 1980 and went on to establish himself as one of the best defensemen in the game. He played for several teams over the course of his career, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres, New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Wells was known for his physical play, strong defensive skills, and leadership on and off the ice.
In total, Wells played in 1,088 NHL games, scoring 47 goals and 195 assists for a total of 242 points. He was a key member of the New York Rangers team that won the Stanley Cup in 1994, and he represented Canada in several international tournaments, including the 1991 Canada Cup and the 1993 World Championships. After retiring from professional hockey, Wells went on to work as an assistant coach for several teams, including the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Florida Panthers, and the Dallas Stars.
