Jeff Finger is a former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for six seasons. He was born on December 18, 1979, in Houghton, Michigan, USA. Finger began his hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the North Bay Centennials, where he played three seasons from 1996 to 1999. Finger's NHL career began in the 2006-2007 season when he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs as a free agent. He quickly established himself as a solid defenseman, leading the team in blocked shots and finishing third in rush defense. In 2008, the Leafs signed Finger to a four-year, $14 million contract. Despite being a reliable player, Finger struggled with injuries during his time in Toronto, limiting his playing time. His contract was later bought out by the Maple Leafs in 2010, allowing him to become a free agent.

Following his stint with the Maple Leafs, Finger signed with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL) where he played until 2012. He announced his retirement from professional hockey in July 2013 after he was unable to find an NHL team willing to sign him. In his NHL career, Finger played in a total of 199 games, scoring 21 points and accumulating 86 penalty minutes.
