Jeff Norton Autographs
Jeff Norton is a former professional hockey player who played 799 games in the NHL from 1987 to 2002. Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1965, Norton began his hockey career in high school and quickly progressed to playing for the University of Michigan hockey team. In his freshman year, he helped lead the Wolverines to the NCAA Championship game, where they narrowly lost to Wisconsin. By his senior year, he was named team captain and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the best player in college hockey.
After leaving college, Norton was selected in the second round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders. He spent his first two seasons split between the Islanders and their AHL affiliate in Springfield, but eventually became a full-time NHL player. Norton spent most of his career as a defenseman, known for his strong skating and physical play. He played for six different NHL teams, including the Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, and the Boston Bruins.
In his NHL career, Norton amassed a total of 544 games played, 39 goals, and 182 assists for a total of 221 points. He also represented the United States in several international tournaments, including the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. Norton retired from professional hockey in 2002 after a 15-year career, but remains active in the hockey community as a coach and advocate for the sport.
