Jiri Hrdina Autographs
Jiri Hrdina was born on January 5, 1958, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Since he was a child, he showed great interest in hockey, and his talent was evident from a young age. At the age of 18, he joined the Czechoslovakian national team and won two silver medals at the World Junior Championships. In 1980, he played in the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, where the Czechoslovakian team finished fourth.
Hrdina played professionally for the Czechoslovakian team Dukla Jihlava from 1976 until 1984, where he won four national championships. In 1984, he defected to Canada, where he signed with the NHL team, Calgary Flames. Hrdina spent five seasons with the Flames, and he became an instrumental member of the team that won the Stanley Cup in 1989.
After leaving the Flames in 1989, Hrdina played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, but he retired from the NHL in 1992 at the age of 34. He returned to Europe and played for several teams, including HC Verva Litvínov in the Czech Republic, where he ended his successful career as a professional ice hockey player. Hrdina’s career stats are impressive, with 238 points in 436 NHL games and a total of 544 points in 566 games throughout his career. Hrdina’s passion, talent, and dedication to ice hockey made him an unforgettable player who remains an inspiration to young players to this day.
