Jochen Hecht Autographs
Jochen Hecht is a retired professional hockey player and coach from Germany. He was born on June 21, 1977, in Mannheim, West Germany. He began his hockey career in his home country, playing for Mannheim ERC in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (German Ice Hockey League). Hecht’s versatility and skill caught the attention of National Hockey League (NHL) scouts, and he was drafted 49th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
Hecht made his NHL debut with the Blues during the 1998-99 season and played there for six years. He was a team leader and consistently one of the Blues’ top scorers, known for his speed, agility, and playmaking ability. Hecht also became known for his defensive prowess, earning a spot on the NHL’s All-Star Defensive Team in 2003. After his stint with the Blues, Hecht played briefly for the Edmonton Oilers before joining the Buffalo Sabres in 2002. He played with the Sabres for nine seasons, serving as captain in 2007-08. Hecht announced his retirement from professional hockey in 2014, having played a total of 833 NHL games and scored 186 goals and 277 assists for 463 points.
After retiring from playing, Hecht shifted his focus to coaching. He served as an assistant coach for Adler Mannheim in the German Ice Hockey League and the German national team. In 2019, Hecht was named head coach of Adler Mannheim, guiding the team to the playoffs in his first season as coach. Hecht’s contributions to hockey both on and off the ice have made him a beloved figure among fans and players alike, and his legacy in the sport continues to inspire many.
