John Kordic Autographs
John Kordic was a professional ice hockey player who was born in Edmonton, Canada, on March 22, 1965. He began his career as a junior player with the Saskatoon Blades in the Western Hockey League. Kordic played 20 games and racked up 193 penalty minutes, which caught the attention of the NHL scouts, and in 1984, he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft.
After his draft, Kordic signed a professional contract with the Canadiens, and he spent most of his career with the team. He was known for his physical play and his ability to fight, which earned him the nickname, "The Hammer." Kordic played over 180 games in the NHL, accumulating over 500 penalty minutes.
Despite his reputation for his toughness on the ice, Kordic struggled with addiction and was suspended several times for substance abuse. He was also involved in a number of legal troubles, including domestic abuse and assault charges. Unfortunately, Kordic's addiction problems ultimately led to his untimely death at the age of 27 in 1992, when he suffered an overdose in a hotel room while playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Despite his off-ice issues, Kordic will be remembered for his fearlessness and dedication to the sport of hockey.
