John Stevens Autographs
John Stevens was born on April 10, 1966, in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Canada, and grew up in the nearby community of James M. Hill. He developed a love for hockey at an early age and played for various teams throughout his childhood. He started his professional career with the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 1988 and earned a spot on the Philadelphia Flyers' roster in 1989.
Stevens played with the Flyers until the 1993-1994 season, scoring 30 points in two consecutive seasons. In 1994, he was traded to the Hartford Whalers, where he played for one season before being sent to the Pittsburgh Penguins. One of Stevens' most notable moments came in the 1996 playoffs when he scored a key goal against the Washington Capitals, helping the Penguins reach the conference finals. He eventually retired as a player in 2002.
After retiring, Stevens became an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Phantoms, the Flyers' AHL affiliate team, in 2002, and was promoted to head coach in 2006. He later served as an assistant coach for the Flyers and the Los Angeles Kings before becoming head coach of the Kings in 2017. In his first season as head coach, he led the Kings to the playoffs and took them to the second round. Throughout his career, Stevens remained a highly regarded figure in the hockey world, and his expertise and contributions to the sport can still be felt today.
