Jordin Tootoo Autographs

Jordin Tootoo is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was born on February 2, 1983, in Churchill, Manitoba. He started playing hockey at a young age and made a name for himself as a talented forward in various local leagues in Manitoba. Tootoo’s talent and hard work paid off when he was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the fourth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He became the first Inuk player to be drafted by an NHL team and quickly established himself as a solid and gritty player on the ice.
Tootoo spent the majority of his professional hockey career with the Nashville Predators, playing with the team for eight seasons from 2003 to 2012. During his time with the Predators, he became known for his physical play and his ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates. He was a fan favorite in Nashville, known for his energetic style of play and his tireless work ethic. In 2012, Tootoo signed with the Detroit Red Wings, where he played for two seasons before being traded to the New Jersey Devils. He finished his NHL career with the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2016-2017 season.
Tootoo’s hockey career was not without challenges, both on and off the ice. He struggled with addiction and suffered a personal loss when his brother committed suicide in 2002. Tootoo used his platform as a professional athlete to raise awareness about mental health and addiction issues, and he founded the Team Tootoo Fund to support suicide prevention and mental health programs for indigenous youth. He retired from professional hockey in 2018, but his legacy as an elite player and an advocate for mental health continues to inspire fans and fellow athletes.
