Josh Gorges is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was born on August 14, 1984, in Kelowna, British Columbia. He played his junior hockey with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League (WHL) and was later signed by the San Jose Sharks in 2002. After being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 2007, Gorges quickly became a fan-favorite with his solid defensive play and leadership qualities. After retiring from the NHL in 2018, Gorges continued to stay involved in the hockey community, serving as a coach and mentor to young players. He also started working with the NHL Players' Association to help players transition to life after hockey.
