Kay Whitmore Autographs

Kay Whitmore, born on June 10, 1967, in Sudbury, Ontario, is a former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played a significant portion of his career in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Hartford Whalers, Vancouver Canucks, and the Boston Bruins. Whitmore's professional career began in 1987 when he started playing for the AHL's Binghamton Whalers, where he played a significant role in leading the team to the 1991 Calder Cup championship.
Whitmore made his NHL debut in February 1988 for the Hartford Whalers and played there for six seasons. He set the franchise record for most saves in a single game with 56 saves in a game against the Edmonton Oilers. In 1993, he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks, where he played for a year before moving to the Boston Bruins, where he played from 1994-95 to 1996-97. He retired in 1998 and finished his NHL career with a total of 155 games, posting a record of 47-59-20, a goals-against average (GAA) of 3.50, and a save percentage of .883.
After retiring from hockey, Whitmore switched to a role in the management of hockey, where he is currently the NHL’s Vice President of Hockey Operations, responsible for overseeing the video review process for NHL games. He also serves as the co-chair of the NHL’s competition committee. Whitmore's contribution to the NHL goes beyond his playing and management career, as he is one of the few goalies to serve as a backup goalie in the National Hockey League All-Star Game. He has also been inducted into the Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame.
