Keith Yandle is a professional ice hockey defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL) who is currently playing for the Florida Panthers. He was born on September 9, 1986, in Boston, Massachusetts. Yandle grew up in a family of hockey players, with his father coaching ice hockey and his brother playing ice hockey at the college level. He went to Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, where he was a standout on their ice hockey team before joining the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in 2004. Yandle began his professional career with the Phoenix Coyotes (now Arizona Coyotes) in 2006, where he quickly established himself as an offensive defenseman with great skating and passing skills. Over the years, he became a consistent performer for the team, earning his first All-Star selection in 2011-12. In 2015-16, he tied a team record for most assists in a single season by a defenseman with 47, which also placed him fourth overall in the NHL. Yandle was traded to the New York Rangers in 2016-17, where he continued his productive play on the blue line, earning another All-Star selection.
