Kelly Buchberger Autographs
Kelly Buchberger is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player who has made a significant contribution to the sport of hockey. He was born on December 2, 1966, in Langenburg, Saskatchewan, Canada. Buchberger began his career with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League in 1983. In 1985 he was selected in the ninth round, 188th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL Entry Draft. Buchberger played for the Edmonton Oilers from 1987 to 1994, helping the team win the Stanley Cup in 1987, 1988, and 1990.
Buchberger's career spanned 18 NHL seasons where he played for five teams, including the Edmonton Oilers, the Phoenix Coyotes, the Atlanta Thrashers, the Los Angeles Kings, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He played 1,182 games in his career, amassing 105 goals, 204 assists and 3,971 penalty minutes. Buchberger's role as a grinder and enforcer stood out in his playing career, and he is highly regarded as one of the toughest players in NHL history.
After calling time on his playing career, Buchberger transitioned into coaching. He took on various roles as an assistant coach for several NHL franchises. He served as an assistant coach for the New York Islanders from 2003-2006, then went back to the Edmonton Oilers, taking on various roles from 2006 to 2019, including serving as an assistant coach, director of player personnel, and Vice President of Hockey Operations. Buchberger is currently an assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres, joining the team in 2020. Buchberger's impressive playing career and vast experience as a coach laid a solid foundation in the hockey world.
