Ken Holland is a former Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender and current general manager of the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on November 10, 1955, in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. In his playing career, Holland played three seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 12th round of the 1975 NHL Entry Draft. Holland began his management career in 1984 when he was hired as a scout for the Detroit Red Wings. In 1997, he was promoted to general manager, and under his leadership, the Red Wings enjoyed one of the most successful runs in NHL history. During Holland's tenure, the team won four Stanley Cup championships and advanced to the playoffs for 25 consecutive seasons.
