Ken Wregget Autographs
Ken Wregget is a retired professional hockey goaltender, born on March 25, 1964, in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. He began his hockey career in the Western Hockey League (WHL), playing first for the Lethbridge Broncos and later for the Kamloops Junior Oilers. In the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Wregget was selected in the third round, 45th overall, by the Philadelphia Flyers. He played with the Flyers for six seasons until he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1989.
Wregget had great success with the Penguins, helping them win their first-ever Stanley Cup championship in 1991. During the playoffs that year, he posted a 14-2 record with a .903 save percentage and a 2.67 goals-against average. The next season, Wregget played a significant role in the Penguins' repeated success, winning 12 of 19 games played in the playoffs. In 1994, Wregget moved to the Toronto Maple Leafs and played there for four seasons, serving as the team's primary goalie. Wregget then played a year with the Detroit Red Wings before signing with the Calgary Flames in 1999.
After 18 NHL seasons, Wregget retired from professional hockey in 2000, having played 581 regular-season games and 60 playoff games. He recorded 225 wins, 248 losses, and 57 ties with a career goals-against average of 2.83 and a .900 save percentage. Wregget's career highlights also include being named the WHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Year (1983), accepting the Penguins' Masterton Trophy for dedication and perseverance to hockey (1996-1997), and playing in the NHL All-Star Game in 1993.
