Kent Douglas Autographs
Kent Douglas was a professional ice hockey player hailing from Cobalt, Ontario, Canada. He was born on May 23, 1936, and went on to have a successful career in the sport. During his early years, Douglas played for the junior ice hockey league teams in Timmins, Ontario. In 1957, he was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs and made his debut during the 1960-61 season, where he played as a defenseman.
Douglas quickly made a name for himself in the National Hockey League (NHL) with his hard-hitting style of play and impressive skating ability. He was a key player in helping the Toronto Maple Leafs win four consecutive Stanley Cup championships from 1962 to 1965. In 1963, Douglas was awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy, which is given to the NHL's rookie of the year.
Apart from his time with the Maple Leafs, Douglas also played for other teams such as the New York Rangers, Oakland Seals, Los Angeles Kings, and Detroit Red Wings throughout his career. He officially retired from the sport after playing for the Detroit Red Wings in 1969. Kent Douglas passed away on August 12, 2009, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and determination, which helped him become one of the most outstanding defensemen of his generation.
