Kevin Fiala is a Swiss professional ice hockey player who currently plays as a left wing for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on July 22, 1996, in Uzwil, Switzerland, and he began his hockey career in Switzerland's youth leagues. He was first introduced to the NHL draft in 2014 when he was selected as the 11th overall pick by the Nashville Predators.
Fiala made his professional debut in 2014 with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL), a minor league affiliate of the Nashville Predators. In his first pro year, he quickly made his way up to the Nashville Predators, playing in the playoffs of 2015-2016 seasons. Fiala played with the Nashville Predators for three seasons before he was traded to the Minnesota Wild in 2019. Since joining the Minnesota Wild team, he has been a vital part of their success, contributing to their playoff runs in both 2019 and 2020.
Kevin Fiala has represented Switzerland in various international games, including the 2014 World Junior Championships and the 2016 World Championships. In the 2016 World Championships, he led his team with five goals, helping them advance to the quarterfinals. He then represented Switzerland in the 2018 and 2019 IIHF World Championships, scoring multiple goals in both competitions. Fiala is known for his speed and agility on the ice, making him one of Switzerland's top hockey prospects. With his impressive performance both at the national and international levels, he is undoubtedly one of the best Swiss players in the NHL today.
