Kevin Westgarth was born on February 7, 1984, in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. He is a former professional ice hockey player who spent six seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Kevin Westgarth started his hockey career while playing for his high school team, followed by many years in the OHL, where he played for the St. Michael's Majors and Princeton Tigers from 2002 to 2006. Westgarth was undrafted, but he signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Kings after completing his university education at Princeton University. In his rookie year, he helped the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2012. Westgarth became known for his solid physical play and gained a reputation as an enforcer, often engaging in physical confrontations with opposing teams. Westgarth played for the Kings from 2008 to 2012 before joining the Carolina Hurricanes for one season.
