Kjell Samuelsson Autographs

Kjell Samuelsson is a former professional ice hockey player from Sweden, who played over 800 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) throughout his illustrious career. Born in Tingsryd, Sweden on October 18, 1958, Samuelsson had an early start in his hockey career, beginning to play professionally in 1976 with Växjö Lakers. After four seasons with Växjö Lakers, he was drafted by the New York Rangers in the fifth round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft.
Samuelsson made his NHL debut during the 1984-85 season with New York Rangers and went on to spend the next 14 seasons in the league. With his towering 6'6" frame, he quickly established himself as a tough and physical defenseman, renowned for his ability to shut down opposing forwards. Samuelsson went on to play for four other NHL teams, including Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and finally with the Flyers again, where he eventually retired in 1999. He was part of the 1991 and 1992 Stanley Cup winning Pittsburgh Penguins, and finished his career with 47 goals, 157 assists, and 204 points in 813 NHL regular-season games, as well as 4 goals, 25 assists, for 29 points in 116 NHL postseason games.
After retiring from professional hockey, Samuelsson continued his involvement in the sport as a coach and manager. He served as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Flyers from 2000 to 2003, then worked as an amateur scout for the team for six seasons, starting in 2005. In 2009 he was named the Flyers' director of player development, and from 2011 to 2014 he held the position of assistant general manager for the team. Kjell Samuelsson has left a lasting impact on the sport of ice hockey, both as a player and as a coach and manager, having made a significant contribution to the sport both on and off the ice.
