Larry Murphy Autographs
Larry Murphy was born on March 8, 1961, in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. He had an impressive hockey career that spanned over two decades, from 1977 to 2001, and he played for several teams throughout his career, including the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Murphy was known for his strong defensive abilities, sharp passing skills, and a hard, accurate shot.
Murphy started his professional hockey career in 1980 with the Los Angeles Kings, playing as a defenseman. He spent five seasons with the Kings before he was traded to the Washington Capitals in 1984. He played for the Capitals for three seasons and then moved to the Minnesota North Stars, where he spent only a year. However, almost two years into his stint with the North Stars, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where his career took off. He spent eight seasons with the Penguins, where he won two Stanley Cup championships, and became their all-time points leader among defensemen.
In 1997, Murphy was traded to the Detroit Red Wings, where he won another Stanley Cup in 1998. He played for the Red Wings for four seasons before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2001, where he played his final year before retiring. Throughout his career, Murphy scored 287 goals and had 929 assists in 1,615 games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004 for his outstanding contributions to the sport.
