Lee Norwood Autographs
Lee Norwood was a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He was born on January 23, 1960, in Edmonton, Alberta. Norwood played as a defenseman throughout his career, with a distinctive playing style that included strong resilience in the defensive zone and fast skating abilities.
Norwood started his hockey career playing for the Victoria Cougars in the Western Hockey League (WHL) during the 1978-79 season. He then played for several other WHL teams before being drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. Norwood played for the Blues for five seasons, from 1980 to 1985, before being traded to the Detroit Red Wings in 1985. He played for the Red Wings for three seasons and left the NHL in 1988. In his 11 seasons in the NHL, Norwood played in a total of 661 games, scoring 50 goals and 188 assists, with a career plus-minus rating of -79.
After his NHL career, Norwood played abroad for the Newcastle Cobras in England's British Hockey League (BHL) during the 1988-89 season. He then played for the Malmö Redhawks of the Swedish Elite League during the 1989-90 season, where he served as a player-coach. After retiring from playing, Norwood continued his coaching career with several different teams, including the London Knights of the OHL and the Guelph Storm of the OHL.
