In 2014, Draisaitl was drafted third overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL Entry Draft, and he joined the team in the following season. In his rookie year, Draisaitl showed his ability to score goals and create scoring opportunities for his teammates, earning him a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team. The next two seasons, Draisaitl continued his development, solidifying his place as one of the Oilers' top forwards, and helping them reach the playoffs in 2017 for the first time in over a decade.

The 2017-18 season was a breakout year for Draisaitl, as he reached career highs in goals, assists, and total points. He also played a key role in helping the Oilers get to the second round of the playoffs, scoring six goals and six assists in 13 games. Draisaitl's skills as a playmaker, his ability to control the game in the offensive zone, and his excellent two-way play have made him one of the NHL's most dynamic forwards. He has been named an NHL All-Star twice and is considered one of the best young players in the league today. Read even more about Leon Draisaitl at Wikipedia
