DeBrusk began his professional career in 1989 when he was selected in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. He debuted with the Oilers in the 1991-92 season and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his fearless style of play. Over his career, DeBrusk amassed 1,161 penalty minutes, earning a reputation as one of the toughest enforcers in the NHL. After retiring from professional hockey in 2003, DeBrusk transitioned to a career in broadcasting.
